Botanika | Julius Villarete

“When the world wearies and society fails to satisfy, there is always the garden.” –Minnie Aumonier

A proud local of Guiguinto, Bulacan, a small town known for flowers and garden plants, Julius spent the past 2 years honing and synthetizing his two passions: plants and painting.  Although majoring in Industrial Engineering in Bulacan University, Julius managed to practice his fondness for the arts  and even managed to be the driving force of CHAEZ’Kuro Biswal, a local art group in Guiguinto.

The Love of Plants
Botanika or Botany in English is the study of plants. Julius spent majority of his time acquiring inspiration from his favorite artists and mentors. Each stem, structure and unique properties were carefully observed and deconstructed to form a patterned impressions of various floras from color pallets carefully selected to express his emotions and visual thoughts.

The Healing Combination

Ironically, in some places botanica can also mean a small store that sells  herbal and other traditional remedies. For Julius, art and plants became a panacea for his physical, mental and spiritual health. A welcomed discovery that he wholeheartedly shares through his art.

Julius Villarete’s works can be viewed at Art Venue Gallery from September 30 – October 14, 2022.
