Born March 6, 1961 in Singalong Manila, Blaine was a furniture maker before he decided to be serious in painting. He took two semesters in U.P. -1981. Rufino Tamayo and Rico Librun, both Cuban artists, inspired him. His colors, which carry a lighter mood despite the complex tonal values, are greatly influenced by a close friendship with Romulo Galicano and Sofronio Mendoza. Most of his collectors are based in the U.S. Many of the established collectors see Blaine as a future rising star in the Philippine Art scene.
