Nilo Badajos


About the Artist


Born July 15, 1962 in Cavite City Nilo Badajos is a figurative painter from Hagonoy, Bulacan. He was trained in the classical figurative tradition, wherein he perfected his craft. Initially an apprentice under Romulo Galicano, another figurative expressionist master, he developed his own technique of mastery of the human figure, and the effective use of light and shadow in his works.

He was commissioned to do the portraits of the De La Salle University’s presidents, currently exhibited in their museum. Other notable works are portraits of the family of the Philippines’ Secretary of Health , Dr. Francisco Duque.
