About the Artist

Chris Velasco was born on November 21, 1953, in Sabang,
Baliuag, Bulacan. He graduated from the University of the East
with a degree in Fine Arts and is a member of Lakan Sining ng
Bulacan. Although a Painting major, his pieces are sculpted
wood works where he adds grains of sand and metal to make
it more realistic. Inspired by Spanish Colonial era architecture,
Velasco’s pieces are beautiful expressions of liminal spaces:
doorways, archways, and windows reminiscent of Hispanic
Bulaceña
